Located in the heart of Carytown, Ellwood House has been a staple of Fan life for over 20 years! Ellwood House's children come from diverse cultures and backgrounds, and its incredible and enthusiastic staff, directed by Cristin McKnight, truly love what they do. Strong family involvement adds to the community feel of Ellwood House, and parents often drop by for visits with their children during the day.
Ellwood House offers the largest private playground in the city, to allow your child to fully enjoy the outdoors in a secure environment. While Ellwood House does not have its own swimming pool, children visit other nearby Tuckaway schools two or three times a week during the summer to enjoy some fun pool time. Tuckaway'spools are carefully monitored by teachers and certified lifeguards, and Tuckaway provides swimming lessons at no additional cost.
Like all of the
Tuckaway locations, Ellwood House's chef always provides family-style
dining, with warm home-cooked meals prepared in its very own kitchen.
No sodium-filled microwave lunches or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
every day! All of Tuckaway's menus are prepared according to USDA guidelines.
When you visit Ellwood House, come to our main entrance around back (the doors facing Ellwood Avenuearelocked on the outside for additional security). There is also a free parking deckaround back - when you're heading west on Ellwood Avenue, turn left onto Crenshaw and then take another left into the parking deck. You should see the sign on our gate right through the back lane.
