Tuckaway Innsbrook is situated conveniently as the only child care center in Innsbrook Office Park. When the community was planned, Tuckaway was exclusively invited by Innsbrook to build a center that was close to where parents worked, so they could visit their children during the day. They chose Tuckaway because of the center's commitment to providing the utmost care.
The Director of Tuckaway Innsbrook, Michelle Sawyer, received her Master of Science degree in Education from Old Dominion University and has worked in education since 2000. She has taught 4th and 5th grade, as well as technology and computer classes to children ages 3 through 8th grade. Michelle’s daughter is also a student at Tuckaway.
Michelle and her staff provide nurturing care for every child in Innsbrook's two buildings-one for younger children and one for school-aged children. All children are separated into different classrooms by age so they can receive care appropriate for their individual stage of development. Innsbrook's preschool classrooms also feature supervised, ongoing computer access, so children are prepared for increasingly technology-based elementary school curricula.
Innsbrook also offers large playgrounds so children have space to run and play, including a large multi-purpose hard-top play area built for bike riding or basketball, and to provide some even footing for Tuckaway's new walkers. The playgrounds are carefully supervised by nurturing teachers. Tuckaway's playgrounds also contain large, in-ground swimming pools carefully supervised by teachers and certified lifeguards, and sectioned off by swimming ability and age, to provide the utmost safety to every child. Tuckaway also provides swimming lessons at no additional charge.
Like all of the Tuckaway locations, Innsbrook always provides family-style dining with warm, home-cooked meals prepared in its very own kitchen. No sodium-filled microwave lunches or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every day! All of Tuckaway's menus are prepared according to USDA guidelines.
The center also uses new Blue Bird school busses, specially designed for Tuckaway and built according to the highest and most recent safety standards available. They feature high-back seats, seat belts, and emergency exits to keep your child safe.
